FRANKFORT, KY:  A forum for candidates for governor in the primary election will be held on Wednesday, April 18th from 6:15 - 8:30 p.m. at the Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero Street.  All candidates have been invited to participate.  The Forum will be moderated by Vicki Dortch and broadcast LIVE by WLKY-TV 32 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Kentucky Commission on Women (KCW) is the presenting sponsor of the Forum and the League of Women Voters of Kentucky (LWVKY) is the co-sponsor.  Twenty-five additional nonpartisan, non-profit organizations will contribute to the Forum and submit questions for the candidates in areas of healthcare, economy/jobs, environment, and the influence of nonprofits in the state.  Questions will be drawn at random and each candidate will receive a different question.

“The Kentucky Commission on Women is proud to be teaming with the League of Women Voters – Kentucky and WLKY-TV 32 to educate and encourage our citizenry to exercise their right to vote.  Informed voters make better decisions and in order for ones voice to be heard, the vote must be cast,” said Glenda Haney Woods, KCW Executive Director.

“The League encourages the public to attend this FREE educational gubernatorial forum.  It is a valuable opportunity to meet and greet candidates,” said LWVKY President Teena Halbig.
