LINCOLN TRAIL COMMISSION ON WOMEN TO HOST KENTUCKY COMMISSION ON WOMEN REGIONAL MEETING
Elizabethtown, KY - In an ongoing effort to serve all women across the Commonwealth, the Kentucky Commission on Women will be holding Regional Meetings to gather input and provide support for communities. The Lincoln Trail Commission on Women will host the Regional Meeting of the Kentucky Commission on Women on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Lincoln Trail Area Development Office, 613 College Street Road, Elizabethtown. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m., with light hors d’oeuvres served at 4:30 p.m.
The Regional Meeting will focus on the needs of the women who live and work in the Lincoln Trail Area Development District (ADD). KCW Executive Director, Glenda R. Woods, will provide an overview of the KCW. The Regional Meetings will occur in all of Kentucky’s 15 Area Development Districts during 2006. The Lincoln Trail Commission on Women was formed in 2004, and has succeeded in addressing several projects important to their district.
With Kentucky ranking 43rd for women’s employment and earnings, 48th in political participation, 49th in the percentage of women with Bachelor’s degrees, and 50th in women’s health and well-being, we need the help of ALL Kentuckians to advance the economic status of women in the Commonwealth.
