Big Sandy Community and Technical College will be hosting the 2006 KCW Big Sandy Regional Meeting
Frankfort, KY: The Kentucky Commission on Women (KCW), an office attached to the Office of the Governor, is pleased that the Carl D. Perkins Rehabilitation Center and Big Sandy Community and Technical College will be hosting the 2006 KCW Big Sandy Regional Meeting on July 18 at 6:00 pm at the Carl D. Perkins Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center (CDPCRC). CDPCRC is located at 5659 Main Street, Thelma, Kentucky. Participants may begin registration at 5:30 pm.
The meeting will focus on the regions progress in the areas of education, equity, leadership, economic sufficiency, health and well-being, and offer a special session on “Women and Money.” “The impact of this meeting will be felt across the Commonwealth at the 2007 Governor’s Conference on Kentucky’s Women,” said Glenda R. Woods, KCW Executive Director, “We are proud to be working with CDPCRC and BSCTCS to improve the status of Kentucky’s women.” The Regional Meetings will occur in all of Kentucky’s 15 Area Development Districts during 2006.
Kentucky’s women rank 49th in the percentage of women with Bachelor’s degrees, 48th in political participation, and 50th in health and well-being.
