| WORKSHOPS SCHEDULED TO ASSIST WITH PROJECT DEVELOPMENT: $3.5 Million Available for Projects to Control Runoff Pollution |

| FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 1, 2005) -- The Green River Basin will be the site of two workshops to assist potential contractors with the development of projects to control runoff pollution. Those contractors interested in applying for grant funds provided under Section 319 (h) of the Clean Water Act are encouraged to attend one of the workshops.
The workshops are to be held in Central City at 9 a.m. on Feb. 7 at the Muhlenberg Agriculture and Convention Center and in Campbellsville at 9 a.m on Feb. 8 at the Campbellsville Fire Department.
Grants totaling $3.5 million are available for watershed restoration projects and for watershed implementation plan development as well as for other projects to help mitigate or prevent rainwater runoff pollution. The Kentucky Division of Water, which has planned the workshops, administers the grants, provided through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
