Kentucky Sports Authority Launches Web Site
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Sports Authority is launching a web site to provide easy access to a calendar of sports events throughout the state, as well as information on sports venues and event bidding processes.
The web address is www.kysportsauthority.com. It is intended to facilitate the development of a sports-friendly image for Kentucky, said Terry Johnson, sports authority executive director. “This web address will help position Kentucky in the forefront of competition for top quality sports events,” he said.
The venue search feature provides a quick and convenient way to locate venues for all sports events around the state. Rights holders can obtain facts about the state’s venues as well as the contact information for these facilities.
The event calendar contains a one-stop listing for sporting events across the state, from college football to high school soccer to thoroughbred horse racing, among many others.
Using the bids page, Kentucky communities can check on what events are looking for a host. They can find details about the event and contact information to recruit the event to their city.
Visitors to the site can also email the Sports Authority any questions, comments or suggestions, as well as sign up for the bimonthly E-newsletter. This newsletter will keep readers up to date on Kentucky sports.
The Kentucky Sports Authority, an agency of the Commerce Cabinet, works with individuals, communities, and groups to attract, create and promote professional and amateur sporting events, conventions, franchises and organizational headquarters for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. One of its first projects has been coordinating the organizational process to build an arena in Louisville.
