Bourbon Festival Announces Exciting Events

The Kentucky Bourbon Festival and the Kentucky Distillers Association have announced the lineup of special events for the 2006 festival, which gets underway on Wednesday Sept. 13 in Bardstown.
 
Racing with the Spirits will be held on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Jideco Hall, 901 Withrow Court in Bardstown. Attendees can participate in an evening of video horse races and bourbon tasting with various distilleries represented. Master Distillers will also be on hand. There will be lots of opportunities to win play money to spend later in the evening. Kentucky foods will be provided by Ladyfingers Catering and music by DJ Matt Krupp. Tickets are $35 per person.

 On Thursday Sept. 14 the special event will be Boots and Bourbon at Jideco Hall. Put on your boots and kick up your heels and join in the Wild Turkey Sit and Sip Saloon. Ladyfingers Catering will prepare barbecue and deep fried turkey with music by the Brown Brothers, and there will be lots of giveaways. Ride the bull or rope the calf and enjoy other games. Tickets are $40 each.

On Friday Sept. 15, Let’s Talk Bourbon will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Four Roses Distillery, 1224 Bonds Mill Road in Lawrenceburg. Four Roses Master Distiller Jim Rutledge will present this detailed seminar on the history and process of making Kentucky bourbon. Tour the distillery and enjoy a Kentucky breakfast outside. Tickets are $25 each.
 
Bourbon, Cigars and Jazz will be the theme on Friday Sept. 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at My Old Kentucky Home State Park Great Hall, 501 E. Stephen Foster Ave. in Bardstown. This exciting evening for cigar and bourbon aficionados will feature premium CAO cigars and a variety of Heaven Hill bourbons. Ladyfingers Catering will prepare Cajun cuisine. Joey Richey and the Hands of Soul from Nashville will perform jazz and dance music. Tickets are $75 each.

 Tickets for all these events may be reserved and purchased by calling 502-348-3623 or 800-638-4877.  Tickets are also on sale at the festival office at One Court Square in Bardstown. A limited number of tickets are available for each of the events, and reservations are recommended.
