"Bluegrass Returns to Its Roots" Festival April 27-30 in Owensboro

The Executive Inn Rivermont will play host to the fifth annual “Bluegrass Returns to Its Roots” festival April 27-30, 2006.

 Among the stars appearing at the event in Owensboro will be J.D. Crowe & the New South, The Grascals, Ronnie Reno & the Reno Tradition, Pine Mountain Railroad and others.

 The festival schedule also includes bluegrass jam sessions around the clock in the hotel’s tower section along with a trade show with some 20 vendors signed up so far, according to Heath Eric, the hotel’s marketing director.

 Tickets and packages are available through the hotel. A two-day pass is $45 per person, with children under 12 free with adult admission. Room rates of $79 per night are available for the event, which kicks off with an open mic jam session on Thursday April 27.

On Friday, shows at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. will feature Dale Ann Bradley & Coon Creek, David Peterson &1946, The Grascals, and Ronnie Reno & the Reno Tradition.
On Saturday, shows at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. will highlight the talents of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, J.D. Crowe & the New South, Pine Mountain Railroad and New Found Road.
