Pirates Invade Aquarium in Third Year of Halloween Event
NEWPORT, Ky. (Oct. 20, 2005) – The Newport Aquarium will be overrun with pirates and trick-or-treaters during its third annual family-friendly Halloween event, Ghosts of Pirate Cove.
As many as four costumed kids age 12 and under will be admitted for $5 with a paying adult during the family friendly Halloween adventure from Oct. 21 through Oct. 31. The hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Special events for kids include treasure hunts and costume contests on the weekends and free treat bags all week long.
Legend has it that Captain Dubloon and his crew have been imprisoned on the ocean floor after their treasure-laden ship sank in the Bermuda Triangle. Caring more their treasure than even life itself, the pirates perished with their sinking pillage. In order to break the curse of an eternity on the sea floor, the pirates must give away the treasure piece by piece. Aquarium guests can hear the ghostly story as they make their way through the aquarium.
