Friday, November 06, 2009 The Council on Postsecondary Education approved a biennial budget request today for Kentucky’s eight public four-year universities and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. The Council is asking for basically the same base budget plus technical adjustments.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009 Governor Steve Beshear today announced that schools in 46 Kentucky school districts will share $1,769,888 in funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to purchase equipment for school food service programs.

Monday, August 17, 2009 Parents enjoying a visit to the Kentucky State Fair this month can also learn about eligibility guidelines to receive health insurance for their children. At the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ (CHFS) display, staff of the Kentucky Children’s Health Insurance Program (KCHIP) will be on hand every day to provide applications and answer questions about the program.

- Kentucky Historical Society Receives $1,050,000 Grant for Civil War Sesquicentennial
Friday, August 14, 2009 The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) was notified on Thursday it will receive a $1,050,000 grant to help Kentucky commemorate the Civil War Sesquicentennial. The grant was part of a $29 million allocation for Transportation Enhancement projects.
