Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development to Present at Congressman Ron Lewis's Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Expo
FRANKFORT, KY – Officials from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development’s Kentucky Procurement Assistance Program (KPAP) will make a presentation to participants at Congressman Ron Lewis’s Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Expo in Ft. Knox on Wednesday, August 17, 2005. KPAP is a business assistance program designed to help Kentucky businesses sell their products and/or services to federal, state and local governments.
The Expo is designed specifically for service-disabled veteran owned small businesses (SDVOSB’s) that are seeking contracting opportunities with the Federal Government. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about Federal Government initiatives to increase the number of contracts and subcontracts awarded to SDVOSB’s. In addition, attendees will be made aware of free services to assist in identifying opportunities, and will have the opportunity to network with representatives from various government agencies.
Organizations invited to participate in a roundtable and mini-matching event include: Ft. Knox Directorate of Contracting; US Army Recruiting Command; US Army Corps of Engineers/Louisville District; General Services Administration (GSA) Atlanta, GA; Department of Veterans Affairs, Washington DC; Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 9, Nashville, TN; US Department of Interior, Mammoth Cave National Park; U.S. Property & Fiscal Office for KY, Boone National Guard, Frankfort, KY; Ft. Knox Community Schools; Ft. Knox Commissary; Army/Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES); Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF); KBR Services; KBR Government Operations; LUSK Group; Caddell Construction; Messer Construction; and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).
The conference, which is being presented in cooperation with the Ft. Knox Directorate of Contracting; the General Services Administration; US Department of Defense; the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development; University of Kentucky Small Business Development Center; and the Small Business Administration, will take place at the Patton Museum, Hwy 31W, Ft. Knox on Wednesday, August 17, 2005, from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. ET. Registration is free but must be received no later than August 15th.
