MAUER USA ANNOUNCES FIRST U.S. FACILITY IN BOONE COUNTY
FRANKFORT, KY—Mauer USA, LLC, an international plastic injection molding manufacturer, today announced plans to open their first U.S. facility in Boone County, Kentucky in the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Area. Mauer USA, LLC has operations in Germany and Poland. This project represents an investment of $10,800,000 and will create a total of 100 new jobs. Mauer expects 85 of these jobs will be filled by Kentucky residents.
“Boone County and Northern Kentucky continue to showcase a positive business climate and demonstrate their ability to attract quality companies,” said Governor Ernie Fletcher. “Their efforts are to be congratulated. Kentucky is proud to welcome Mauer USA as its newest corporate citizen.”
Mauer USA plans to manufacture injection molded caps and closures for the U.S. packaging industry. The company plans to build a 40,000 square foot facility on 14 acres on Arbor Tech Drive in the Riverview Business Park located in unincorporated Boone County and will also purchase new equipment and building fixtures.
“We are pleased to have Mauer USA locate in Boone County and join the many quality companies located in our area,” added Gary W. Moore, Boone County Judge Executive and Chairman of Northern Kentucky Tri-ED. “Mauer USA is exactly the type of development that Tri-ED seeks to promote in the region and will become the 156th international firm in Northern Kentucky.”
“We chose Kentucky and in particular, Boone County because of the business friendly environment, being near an international airport, the skill levels of the potential workforce and the overall quality of life,” stated Klaus Mauer, President and CEO of Mauer AG and Mauer USA. “This process has been a very pleasant experience for our company. We greatly appreciate the professional assistance and advice received from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and the Tri-County Economic Development Corporation. Additionally, the willingness of those working with us to continue assisting a company once they have located is of great importance to me.”
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) approved on January 25, 2007 Mauer USA, LLC for tax credit incentives up to $1,556,274 under the Kentucky Industrial Development Act (KIDA), an incentive program designed to attract and expand manufacturing operations in the state.
