The new and expanding manufacturing projects will create a combined 50 new jobs and represent a more than $5.1 million investment in the Commonwealth.

Tuesday, March 02, 2010 PRINCETON, Ky. (March 2, 2010) – Gov. Steve Beshear today joined company and community leaders in Princeton to announce the expansion of Bremner Food Group, the nation’s largest supplier of private label cookies and crackers. Bremner Food Group, a subsidiary of Ralcorp Holdings, will install new production lines, relocate production lines from other facilities and increase its warehouse space to handle increased capacity. The expansion project will result in 111 new full-time jobs and represents an investment of $62.1 million in the Commonwealth.

Beshear was joined by officials from Rio Tinto Alcan, one of only a handful of aluminum smelters remaining in the United States, and representatives of the Kentucky Aluminum Network, a not-for-profit membership organization of Kentucky aluminum producers.

Thursday, February 25, 2010 FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 25, 2010) – Gov. Steve Beshear today announced the award of $120,000 from the Cabinet for Economic Development’s High-Tech Investment Pool to Lexington-based ParaTechs Corporation. The biotechnology company, which is a client of the Lexington Innovation and Commercialization Center, creates products used for protein production for use in vaccines and therapeutics. ParaTechs anticipates creating seven new high-tech jobs paying an average annual salary of at least $55,000.

Steve Beshear and Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson today joined company officials from TRAX Mechanical Systems, Liberty Processing and Services Innovation and Bio Pharma Logistics, all startup companies, to announce they will begin operations in Louisville. (Jan. 28, 2010) – Two Kentucky high-tech companies were awarded a combined $275,000 in funding today from the Cabinet for Economic Development’s High-Tech Investment Pool. The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) approved Xhale Inc. and Connected Patients LLC for state funding of up to $175,000 and $100,000 respectively to assist in the expansion of the companies. The two projects are anticipated to create a combined 21 new high-tech jobs.

Curtis Maruyasu America will retool its Marion County facility, investing nearly $11 million and preserving 416 jobs.

A Missouri-based manufacturer has selected Louisville for a $63 million plant that will bring in excess of 240 new jobs in the community. Maverick Tube Corporation will build the facility at Jefferson Riverport International in southwest Louisville.

Thursday, December 16, 2004 Governor Ernie Fletcher and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Gene Strong, along with officials from the University of Kentucky and the City of Lexington are pleased to announce that Belcan Engineering Group has been selected to open a new Engineering Design Center for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. Belcan expects to open the new Center in Lexington in early January 2005, with up to 40 Belcan employees and could grow the operation to over 300 engineers by year's end if Sikorsky is successful in winning future U.S. government and international contracts.

Governor Ernie Fletcher and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Gene Strong announced the expansion of Immpheron, Inc., a startup private biotechnology corporation based in Lexington. The company plans to move its existing laboratory on Nicholasville Road to a newly constructed research and development center in Coldstream Research Park. The expansion is expected to result in the creation of 15 new jobs for Kentuckians.
