Wednesday, November 18, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 18, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Larry Hayes today announced the start up of New World Flooring, Inc., a manufacturer of flooring lumber and parts, in Albany, Ky. The company will create approximately 30 new full-time jobs and invest over $3 million in the Commonwealth.
- Governor Beshear Announces Beam Global Spirits & Wine to Increase Operations at Two Kentucky Distilleries
Tuesday, November 17, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 17, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Larry Hayes today announced Beam Global Spirits & Wine will expand its operations in Kentucky. A longstanding first family of Bourbon, the Jim Beam distilleries in Frankfort and Clermont, Ky., will begin production of DeKuyper® cordials and other spirits currently bottled outside of Kentucky.
- Kentucky High-Tech Small Businesses Receive SBIR-STTR Grants
Monday, November 16, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (November 16, 2009) – Governor Steve Beshear today announced five Kentucky high-tech companies will share over $1.3 million in state funds as part of a Kentucky initiative to attract and support technology-based small businesses by matching federal awards the companies have received. The awards supplement over $24 million in federal funding made to the firms, including Louisville Bioscience, which established operations in Kentucky specifically because of the program.

- Governor Beshear Announces Hitachi Automotive Products (USA) to Expand, Bring Advanced Fuel System Production to Harrodsburg
Tuesday, November 10, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (November 10, 2009) – Joined by officials from Hitachi Automotive Products (USA), Inc. Gov. Steve Beshear today announced the company will expand its Harrodsburg operation, adding a new advanced fuel system production line to the plant. Furthermore, the expansion could also result in an additional product line for hybrid electric products in the near future.
- Governor Beshear Announces Expansion of INFAC Corporation in Campbellsville
Thursday, October 29, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (October 29, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Larry Hayes today announced INFAC Corporation, a leading producer and worldwide supplier of mechanical cables and electronic components for the automotive industry, will add manufacturing capabilities to its distribution and sales center in Taylor County. The expansion will entail a $530,000 investment and will create an additional 20 jobs in the community.

Thursday, October 29, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (October 29, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Larry Hayes today announced Blackhawk Composites, Inc., a start-up manufacturer of advanced aerospace composite parts, will begin manufacturing operations in Butler County. The project entails the creation of 20 new jobs initially, growing to 30 within the first year, and a more than $1.5 million investment in the Commonwealth.
- Two Kentucky High-Tech Companies Awarded Funding for Expansions
Thursday, October 29, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (October 29, 2009) – The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) today awarded two high-tech Kentucky companies, Louisville Bioscience, Inc., and Laboratory and BioDiagnostics, LLC, (LabDx), state funding of up to $250,000 each from the Cabinet for Economic Development’s High-Tech Investment Pool. The companies are anticipated to create a combined 36 new high-tech jobs at an average annual salary of over $64,000.

Thursday, September 10, 2009 COVINGTON, Ky. (September 10, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear today joined state and local officials to mark the opening of a life science accelerator building that provides offices and laboratory space for start-up biotechnology companies developing anti-cancer drugs, genetic tests and medical instruments. The building will also serve as the new U.S. headquarters for bioLOGIC Corporation, a global life science accelerator company with offices worldwide. bioLOGIC, one of the owners of the facility, has already helped bring several biotech companies to Kentucky.

Monday, August 24, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (August 24, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear today announced the expansion of Wolf Steel USA, Inc., a Grant County manufacturer of stoves, fireplaces, parts and accessories. The company will add 72,150 square feet to their existing 39,000 square-foot facility to increase warehousing, distribution and manufacturing space.
- Governor Beshear Recognizes Kentucky High-Tech Award Recipients
Monday, August 17, 2009 FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 17, 2009) – Gov. Steve Beshear today recognized more than 50 Kentucky researchers and high-tech entrepreneurs who have recently received funding from the Commonwealth. Since 2001, Kentucky has awarded more than $72 million through its high-tech programs, which have helped create more than 450 new high-tech companies, and deliver over 3,000 new high-paying and high-tech jobs for Kentuckians.
