LOUISVILLE, KY…Tickets are on sale now for two of country music’s hottest new stars in one of the biggest concerts to hit Louisville this summer. Chart-topping performers Gretchen Wilson and Big & Rich will kick off the 2005 Kentucky State Fair Thursday, August 18 at 8 p.m. in Freedom Hall. Tickets are $41, including admission to the Kentucky State Fair and a $1 facility fee.

Gretchen Wilson’s album, Here for the Party, debuted at number one on the Billboard Country Albums chart and set a new record when it remained at the top spot for nine weeks. Her first single, “Redneck Woman,” spent six weeks at number one, the longest stay for a debut country female artist since 1964. In February of 2005, Wilson received four Grammy nominations and won Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “Redneck Woman.” She also took home Best New Artist and Top Female Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

Country duo Big & Rich have also spent time atop the Billboard charts. Their debut album, Horse of a Different Color, went to number one on the Billboard Country Albums chart with the success of smash hit “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).” Their inspirational song “Holy Water” was nominated for Group/Duo Video of the Year and Most Inspiring Video of the Year at the Country Music Television Music Awards. The duo received three nominations at last week’s ACM Awards, including Video of the Year for “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).”

Tickets for this concert are available now at the Freedom Hall Ticket Office and all ticketmaster outlets. You can charge by phone at (502) 361-3100 or 1-800-487-1212, or purchase online at using ticketFast. For more information about the Kentucky State Fair and other scheduled concerts, visit
