(Louisville, KY) … The 40th anniversary of the National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS) drew the second highest attendance total in the event’s history as 302,116 people flooded the Kentucky Fair & Exposition (KFEC) Center, February 16-19. Experiencing an increase of almost 10,000 people over last year’s attendance, the 2005 show marked just the third time the NFMS crowd topped the 300,000 plateau.

“This year’s National Farm Machinery Show was a great success – probably one of the best we have produced to date,” said Harold Workman, president & CEO of the Kentucky State Fair Board. “Because this event is produced entirely in-house, we are especially proud of the show’s results. Exhibit space was a sell out again, and, for the first time, the Championship Tractor Pull sold out all five performances.”

Approximately 800 exhibitors filled more than one million square feet of indoor space at KFEC during its annual four-day run, continuing the show’s tradition as the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the country. The NFMS continues to draw both national and international attendees and exhibitors, generating business across the community and into the Commonwealth that translates into $19 million in economic impact annually.

The 41st National Farm Machinery Show and the 38th Championship Tractor Pull will be held February 15-18, 2006. For more information about the 2006 NFMS, visit
