Constitutional Officer Races Aren’t the Only Thing on the Ballot!

(Frankfort, KY) Some voters will have more decisions to make for election day on November 6, 2007.  A number of counties will see races for the unexpired-terms of judicial offices and local offices, as well as some local referendum questions on their ballot in addition to races for the state’s constitutional officers. 

“A large number of Kentucky voters will have races for unexpired terms and local referenda question on the ballot when they head to the polls on November 6, 2007,” stated Secretary Grayson.  “Voters should prepare for this election by determining the races for which they are eligible to cast a ballot and by researching the candidates and local issues that will be on the ballot.” 

Voters can access sample ballots online or via their county clerk to determine which races will be on the ballot.

All of the judicial races are for un-expired terms.  Some of the judicial races are a result of House Bill 382, as enacted by the 2006 General Assembly which created several new judicial districts.  The following list details the judicial races on the ballot and which counties are affected:
