Business entities registered in the Commonwealth of Kentucky can now obtain their annual reports with a single click of a mouse on the Kentucky Secretary of State’s website thanks to a new service announced today by Secretary of State Trey Grayson.  This new service will allow businesses access to their annual reports nearly two months earlier than was previously available. 

“One of my promises upon taking office was to make our office more user-friendly and accessible,” stated Secretary of State Trey Grayson.  “By placing more applications online, we allow citizens more access to important services in one of the most efficient manners possible.”

 All Corporations, Limited Liability Companies (LLCs), and Professional Services Corporations (PSCs) that are registered with the state, are required to file an annual report by June 30 of each year.  Failure to do so will result in the company being listed in bad-standing with the state.

 This new service allows citizens to print annual reports as early as the first state business day of the calendar year as opposed to waiting to receive a mailed copy.   The report includes generated information for the company from its previous filing, saving the company the redundancy of entering information every year.

 Grayson also urged business entities to “save themselves the time and file online” by making use of another annual report online service—online filings. 

 “The easiest way for all businesses to file their annual report is to do so electronically on our website.  In a matter of minutes, you can view your report, make any necessary changes, and file your report.  There is no waiting or turnaround time.  Just log in and in a matter of minutes, you are finished.”

 Since he took office, Secretary Grayson has announced numerous new online services. Just recently, online access to several corporate certificates that could previously only be requested by phone was made available, including popular forms such as the Certificate of Existence and the Certificate of Authorization.  Last year, access to portions of the Governor’s Executive Journal, final copies of enacted legislation of the Commonwealth, and Revolutionary War Patents were made available to the public via the World Wide Web.

The Office of the Secretary of State is entrusted with filing, maintaining and preserving the important documents and records of the Commonwealth and her people.  Access to documents not found online is available at the State Capitol Building in Frankfort, KY.
