LOUISVILLE, Ky. (September 25, 2009) –Today, Business First selected Personnel Cabinet Secretary Nikki Jackson as a 2009 Forty Under 40 honoree.
Since 1996, Business First has recognized 40 young professionals each year for their business success and civic contributions. Winners were selected by a panel of judges from the Louisville-area business community. Today, the class was honored at a luncheon held at The Galt House Hotel.
This year, Business First received more than 400 nominations and over 180 of those returned questionnaires. All honorees will be featured in an upcoming special publication.
Jackson has 14 years of experience in Human Resources. As Personnel Cabinet Secretary she has been instrumental in the strategic transformation of human resources within state government.
Under her direction, many programs and services have been developed, including a Journey to Wellness program to help employees develop healthy lifestyles, flexible work schedules to improve work-life balance, and several new employee recognition programs.
She has also forged a myriad of public-private partnerships to include: the University of Kentucky’s Institute for Workplace Innovation, When Work Works initiative to promote Kentucky employers in the global economy. Jackson created “The Leadership Institute,” a yearlong program that introduces a leadership model to Personnel Cabinet staff, as a way to increase the managerial acumen for that same population.
