Becoming An Outdoors Woman Weekend Set For Cumberland Falls Feb. 22-24
CORBIN, Ky. – The next “Becoming an Outdoors Woman” weekend will be held at scenic Cumberland Falls State Resort Park near Corbin Feb. 22-24.
This “Becoming an Outdoors Woman” program is co-sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the Kentucky Department of Parks. The program is being offered at several parks during 2008.
The Cumberland Falls weekend will include a night hike to see the moonbow at the falls, as well as sessions on backpacking, fly fishing, first aid and survival, falconry, antler basket making, archery and more.
The BOW workshops are designed for women to “get their feet wet” with professional instruction from a teacher whose goal is to make sure the participant has fun, and comes away with confidence in their new skills.
The cost of the Cumberland Falls weekend is $175 and includes two nights’ accommodation at the lodge, six meals and programs. The registration deadline is Feb. 14. You may register with a credit card, or get a form by calling toll-free 1-800-858-1549 weekdays (Eastern Time). Forms are also on the internet at fw.ky.gov.
Another BOW workshop geared toward family outdoor activities is planned at Carter Caves State Resort Park for April 4-6.
