State Parks Offer Valentine’s Day Special Weekends and Events
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and several Kentucky State Parks are offering special packages in February.
State parks offer a great chance for a getaway weekend along with excellent food, entertainment and natural beauty and scenery. Listed below are the resort parks with the Valentine’s packages and the park toll-free phone number. For more information about each park, visit www.parks.ky.gov
Barren River (Glasgow)- Honeymooner’s Weekend- February 9th –11th
Bring your sweetheart to Barren River for a fun, relaxing, romantic weekend. There will be activities offered throughout the weekend that will make for a memorable one. Blue Licks (Mount Olivet)- Valentine’s Dinner Theatre- February 9th and 10th , Valentine Evening Special on Feb. 17th
Enjoy a delicious buffet featuring roast beef carved on the line, roast pork and dressing, vegetable medley, catfish, a large selection of fresh salads, and a dessert buffet. Seating begins around 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. (both days) The one-woman show will feature Kelly Brengelman portraying Ruth Hanly Booe, a founder of Rebecca Ruth Candies. Buckhorn Lake (Buckhorn) - Sweetheart Weekend – February 9th – 10th

Carter Caves (Olive Hill)- Valentine’s Dinner Theatre – February 9th – 10th
Spend some time alone in a naturally beautiful setting nestled away in the foothills of eastern Kentucky.
