Magnolia 5K Race Set for July 12 at Rough River Dam

FALLS OF ROUGH, Ky. – Lace up your running shoes and head for Rough River Dam State Resort Park to join in the Magnolia 5K race on Saturday July 12.

The Magnolia 5K is the fourth race in the Kentucky State Park 5K Race Series.   The race begins at 8:00 a.m. CT, and the starting line will be located near the airport building.  Awards and door prizes will be given following the finish of the race.  You do not have to be in the entire series to participate in this race.

The cost is $15.00 if you pre-register before July 11 and $20.00 the day of the race.  For a registration form or for further information please contact Recreation Supervisor Sheila Jones at Rough River Dam State Resort Park at 270-257-2311. 

Activities at Rough River include hiking, golfing, swimming, boating, fishing and camping. Beautiful lake views enhance the appeal of Rough River Dam Lodge. Each of the 40 rooms features a private patio or balcony that overlooks the lake. The resort is located on KY 79. From the Western Kentucky Parkway, exit on KY 79 north from Caneyville or exit on KY 259 north at Leitchfield and travel to the park via KY 54 from Leitchfield. Driving south, take KY 79 south from Hardinsburg and US 60.
