BURKESVILLE, Ky. – An automobile road rally scheduled for Saturday Nov. 8 at Dale Hollow State Resort Park has been cancelled.

Kentucky Department of Parks Commissioner Gerry van der Meer said a lack of pre-registrations for the event led to the cancellation. ” We simply did not experience enough responses for this particular event. This in no way is a poor reflection on Scenic Road Rally or our park, but may be due to the challenging economic times and overall less travel occurring,” van der Meer said.

Additional information about this and other events at Dale Hollow may be obtained by calling Mike Lynn, park manager, at 800-325-2282.

The park features a lodge, campground and the Island View Restaurant. In addition to boating and fishing on the 28,000 acre lake, activities include golf on the park’s outstanding new course, mini-golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and other outdoor diversions.

Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park is located at 6371 State Park Rd. in Burkesville, Ky. near the Kentucky-Tennessee border. The lake straddles the border. For detailed directions, call the park or check the parks department web site at www.parks.ky.gov.
