FRANKFORT, Ky. – Because of last weekend’s postponement of the “Two Rivers 5K,” due to heavy rain, there is still time for runners to sign up for the Kentucky State Parks’ 5K Racing Series.

The General Butler race will be postponed until August, making the “Spring 5K Classic” on April 1 at Dale Hollow the beginning of the series.

Other races in the series are the “Barren River 5K” classic on May 20 at Barren River State Resort Park in Lucas, Ky., the “Possom Ridge 5K”on June 17 at Taylorsville State Park, just outside of Louisville, and the “Magnolia 5K” on July 15 at Rough River State Resort Park in Falls of Rough, Ky.

The “Two Rivers 5K” has been tentatively rescheduled for Aug. 12.

Runners can enter each race individually, but are being offered a significant discount to enter all five events. The cost is $15 per race for pre-registration or $18 on the day of the race, compared to only $65 for the whole series. Additionally, a grand prize will be awarded to the male and female runners who enter all five events and earn the most points. Everyone who finishes all five races will receive a certificate of recognition and be registered for a special drawing.
