Department of Parks Some State Park Community Pools May Close or Curtail Hours in August
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Some of the Kentucky State Park system’s 11 community pools may be closing or curtailing hours this month.
These 11 pools have lifeguards and usually charge a fee for admission. Many lifeguards are high school and college students and are returning to classes.
Travelers may want to call ahead and check the status of these pools. (The lodge pools at the state resort parks do not have lifeguards and will remain open through Labor Day weekend for lodge and cottage guests.) The parks with community pools are:
Blue Licks Battlefield
Carter Caves
Cumberland Falls
E.P. “Tom” Sawyer
Fort Boonesborough
Natural Bridge
Greenbo Lake
Kincaid Lake
Lake Cumberland
Levi Jackson
Dale Hollow (Campground Pool)
