Kentucky State Parks Offer Coupon For Free Child’s Admission At Museums and Historic Sites

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State Parks are offering a coupon good for a free child’s admission to its museums and historic sites.

 

The coupon, available at www.parks.ky.gov or www.mykentuckybackyard.com through May 4, offers free admission for a child with a paid adult admission through Oct. 31, 2009.

 

“This is a great opportunity for families to learn more about our state’s history,” said Parks Commissioner Gerry van der Meer. “The Kentucky State Parks have some excellent museums and historic sites that help tell the story of our Commonwealth.”

 

The coupon is good at the following museums and historic sites:

 

Big Bone Lick State Park, Union

Blue Licks Battlefield Museum, Mount Olivet

Butler-Turpin State Historic House, Carrollton

Columbus-Belmont State Park, Columbus

Fort Boonesborough State Park, Richmond

Jefferson Davis State Historic Site, Fairview

John James Audubon State Park, Henderson

My Old Kentucky Home State Park, Bardstown

Levi Jackson State Park, London

Lincoln Homestead State Park, Springfield

Old Fort Harrod State Park, Harrodsburg

Old Mulkey Meeting House, Tompkinsville

Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site, Perryville

Waveland State Historic Site, Lexington

White Hall State Historic Site, Richmond

Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site, Wickliffe

William Whitley State Historic Site, Stanford

 

These historic sites do not have an admission fee: Boone Station State Historic Site near Lexington, Constitution Square State Historic Site at Danville, and Dr. Thomas Walker State Historic Site at Barbourville.
