RFP Issued For Lake Malone State Park

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Department of Parks is seeking a contractor to build and operate cottages and operate the marina at Lake Malone State Park in Muhlenburg and Logan counties.

A request for proposal has been issued for the project. Lake Malone covers 788 lake acres and the park currently has a campground, marina, picnic shelters, beach and a 1.5-mile hiking trail. The lake is enclosed by dramatic 50-foot sandstone bluffs.

“Our proposals for public-private partnerships, such as this one, are a good way to leverage scarce funding and obtain the best return on the taxpayers’ investment,” said Parks Commissioner J.T. Miller.
