Rough River Dam Will Host Magnolia 5K on July 9

FALLS OF ROUGH, Ky. -- Rough River Dam State Resort Park will host the fourth race of the Kentucky State Parks Race Series on Saturday, July 9. 

Registration fee for the race is $15 prior to race day and $20 on race day.  Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. on the 9th at the park’s Airport Lounge, with the race beginning at 8 a.m. Central Time.  Participants will receive a race T-shirt and gift bag at registration.  The drawing for door prizes will take place following the race. 

Trophies will be provided for 1^st and 2^nd place in each age category for 5K runners.  Walkers will receive a certificate.  The winners of the 2011 5K Race Series will also be announced at the conclusion of the event.

Rough River Dam State Resort Park has a lodge, cottages, campground, Grayson’s Landing Restaurant, fishing, boating, mini-golf and a gift shop. The park is on KY 79. From the Western Kentucky Parkway, exit on KY 79 north from Caneyville or exit on KY 259 N at Leitchfield and travel to the park via KY 54 from Leitchfield. Driving south, take KY 79 south from Hardinsburg and US 60.
