Art Festival Set for Feb. 19-20 at Greenbo Lake
GREENUP, Ky. -- Greenbo Lake State Resort Park and The Kentucky Creative Arts Club present the 24th Annual Art Festival Feb. 19-20 at Greenbo Lake.
This weekend is for artists and art lovers who are dedicated to preserving and enhancing the culture of the Tri-State Area. Registration is Friday, Feb. 19, from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 20, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Participants must be at least 18 years old and may register up to four pieces of art work in professional or amateur categories. There is a registration fee of $15. All work must be ready for hanging and suitable for family viewing. Sculptures are accepted, but no photography or crafts are allowed.
Sale of works will be encouraged and artists should price their work or mark not for sale. There will also be art demonstrations on Friday evening and all day Saturday until 3 p.m. Admission is free.
Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is on KY 1, 18 miles north of I-64 from the Grayson exit or eight miles south of U.S. 23, the Country Music Highway on KY 1. Greenbo Lake features the Jesse Stuart Lodge with 36 rooms, gift shop and Anglers’ Cove Restaurant. The park has a 225-acre lake for boating and fishing, tennis courts, 25 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. A newly renovated campground is open April 1 through Oct. 31. Greenbo Amphitheatre features musical concerts and plays during the summer and fall.
