Two Kentucky State Park Golf Pros Honored

FRANKFORT, Ky.Two Kentucky State Park golf pros have been recognized by the Kentucky PGA for their work.

 

Donnie Caldwell, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Wasioto Winds Golf Course at Pine Mountain State Resort Park, received the 2010 Junior Golf Leader for the fourth time. 

 

This award recognizes a PGA golf professional who is a leader in junior golf; reflects the qualities and ideals of those who work with our nation’s youth; and provides opportunities and experiences for juniors to learn and play golf. The guidelines for this award include contributions to junior programs and events; promotion and development of junior golf; and service and leadership in the area of junior golf.

 

Ron Roberts, PGA Head Golf Professional at General Burnside Island Golf Course at General Burnside Island State Park, received the 2010 Public Merchandiser of the Year. 

 

Presented in conjunction with the Association of Golf Exhibitors, this award recognizes those PGA Professionals who have demonstrated superior skills as merchandisers in the promotion of golf. Candidates are judged on topics such as merchandising performance, displays, merchandising techniques, shop operations and staff training.

 

The awards were presented Oct. 25 at the Kentucky Section PGA Fall Business Meeting in Louisville.
