Scottish Weekend On Tap at General Butler

FRANKFORT, Ky.One of the state park system’s premiere annual events, the annual Kentucky Scottish Weekend, at General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton, is on tap for May 12-14.

 

        The 24th edition of this celebration of all things Scottish will feature many activities that draw visitors back every year. Saturday’s schedule includes a British car show, piping and drumming competition, highland dance competition and an evening celebration called a ceilidh. Sunday’s schedule includes a parade of tartans and cultural and historical seminars. On both days, vendors will sell a variety of Scottish-themed crafts and other products. Also both days, Scottish athletic competitions will take place.

 

    The Celtic-flavored Neil Emberg Trio will perform both days. Gate admission is $12 for adults covering both days, $10 for the ceilidh.
