Junior Golfers Get Free Play in May

FRANKFORT, Ky.Kentucky state parks will observe Play Golf America Month in May with a special promotion aimed at young golfers.

 

    From May 1st through the 25th, any player 18 or under may play a free round at any Kentucky state park golf course when accompanied by a paying adult.

 

     The free play applies at all 21 park courses. Also, a free, one-day clinic on some aspect of golf will be conducted at each of the 11 courses served by a PGA Professional. The participating parks are: Barren River Lake, Ben Hawes, Dale Hollow Lake, Grayson Lake, Kentucky Dam Village, Lake Barkley, Lincoln Homestead, Mineral Mound, My Old Kentucky Home, Pine Mountain, and Yatesville Lake The clinic schedules will be determined by the local PGA Professional. Call the local course for date and time. 

 

    “We’re pleased to take part in Play Golf America Month,” said Dan Strohmeier, the department’s director of golf. “This is a PGA initiative intended to grow this exciting sport. We’re pleased to participate through this promotion.”
