Barren River Invites Companies to Participate in First Corporate Olympics
LUCAS, Ky. – An organizational meeting for Barren River Lake State Resort Park’s first Corporate Olympics will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday Aug. 8, 2008 at the park’s Louie B. Nunn Lodge.
Companies that would like to participate in this amateur athletic event for people who work in south-central Kentucky are encouraged to send a representative to the meeting. Companies that can’t send a representative may obtain registration information by contacting Lisa Deavers at 270-646-2151 or by email at lisa.deavers@ky.gov.
The event, which kicks off on Saturday Sept. 13, will include competitions in golf, canoeing, horseshoes, tug-o-war, survival challenge, archery, Kentucky trivia, sand volleyball and an executive relay. The competitions will take place on various dates starting Sept. 13. The event will conclude Oct. 11 with a closing ceremony.
Barren River Lake State Resort Park near Glasgow has a lodge, cottages, Driftwood Restaurant, golf course, fitness center, gift shop, fishing, picnic areas and hiking trails. The resort is located 44 miles southeast of Bowling Green. Take I-65 to the Cumberland Parkway east, to US 31E south.
