Constitution Square Hosts Free Summer Concert Series, Farmer’s Market

DANVILLE, Ky.Constitution Square State Park in Danville is hosting a series of free concerts this summer along with a farmer’s market at the historic site.

 

The Whimsy Summer Concert Series will be held each Thursday night in June and July from 7-9 p.m. The groups include a variety of regional musical artists.

 

The Boyle County Farmer’s Market, which features locally grown products, is open Thursday evenings from 5-8 p.m. The market is also open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The market will operate through September.

 

Picnic benches are available but visitors cans bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.

 

The park is hosting these events and the co-sponsors are the Heart of Danville, Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Boyle County Chamber of Commerce.

 

Constitution Square was the site of a series of important events in Kentucky's history – the 10 constitutional conventions that led to Kentucky's statehood in 1792. It features several historic replicas and original structures depicting life in the late 1700s and early 1800s. The Governor’s Circle includes a statue with the state seal and a circle of plaques dedicated to each Kentucky governor.

 

Constitution Square is located in Danville, 35 miles southwest of Lexington, at 134 South Second Street.
