FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Kentucky State Parks are partnering with john conti Coffee Co. to promote a new blend of upscale gourmet coffee in all State Park facilities. This 100 percent Arabician coffee, called "Bluegrass Blend," will be packaged specifically for the Parks, and will feature the "Kentucky Unbridled Spirit" logo as well as the "Kentucky Proud" logo.

Bob Perry, Director of Food Service for the State Parks, said the parks are excited about john conti Coffee Co, because, "It is a high-quality product that our guests should really enjoy, and john conti is a Kentucky based company, too."

Larry Hollingsworth, the president of john conti coffee, is a strong advocate and ambassador in the "leadership Kentucky program," promoting Kentucky Proud products. He has steered the company to become the only Kentucky proud coffee partner and is excited with this contribution to the initiative.

The new coffee is being introduced statewide in all 17 state resort parks, plus the state-operated restaurants and cafeterias. It will be served in the dining rooms and banquet facilities as well as "in room" usage in the lodging rooms for overnight guests.

john conti Coffee Co. currently serves more than 5,000 office, restaurant and institutional customers through its extensive route network throughout Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Tennessee and West Virginia. The company is the leading importer and roaster of high quality gourmet coffees for offices, restaurants, supermarkets and specialty stores.

The Kentucky State Park System is composed of 52 state parks plus an interstate park shared with Virginia. The Department of Parks, an agency of the Commerce Cabinet, operates 17 resort parks with lodges -- more than any other state. Each year, Kentucky parks draw 7 million visitors and contribute $317 million to the economy. For more information on Kentucky parks, visit our Web site at <http://www.parks.ky.gov>
