Carroll County Goldenrod Gala Will Be Sept. 1 At General Butler State Resort Park

CARROLLTON, Ky. – The Carroll County Goldenrod Gala will be Saturday, Sept. 1, at General Butler State Resort Park at Carrollton from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

This one-day juried arts and crafts festival features all handmade items. There will also be music and entertainment throughout the day, activities for children such as pottery making, games and mini-golf, and plenty of food. There will also be broom making demonstrations, dulcimer music, Kentucky Kruizers Car Show and a raffle for the “Underground Railroad Sampler Quilt.”

 

The gala is free. It will be held at the entrance of the park near the stone shelter house and mini-golf course.

 

General Butler State Resort Park has a lodge, Two Rivers Restaurant, cottages, campground, hiking trails, mountain biking trails, fishing, boating, a 9-hole golf course, historic Butler-Turpin home, group meeting facilities, gift shop and picnic areas. The park is located 44 miles northeast of Louisville. From Louisville, take I-71 to Carrollton and look for the signs to the park.
