Proposals Sought For General Burnside Island State Park Project
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Department of Parks has reissued a request for proposal for a contractor to build and operate a lodge, restaurant and conference center at General Burnside Island State Park in Pulaski County.
General Burnside is located just south of Somerset on Lake Cumberland. The 430-acre park has an 18-hole golf course that is currently being renovated and campground. This is the only island park in the state.
The RFP seeks a lodge with at least 50 rooms, a restaurant, conference space, pool, gift shop and other features found at state resort parks.
The proposals to the first RFP earlier this year were determined not to be responsive. The Department of Parks decided to reissue the RFP.
More information about the proposal is available at https://eprocurement.ky.gov. The deadline for submitting proposals is Oct. 12, 2007, at 4 p.m.
