LUCAS, Ky. – If the cold winter weather really makes you hungry, visit the Driftwood Restaurant at Barren River Lake State Resort Park to satisfy your appetite with some comfort food.

Travel back in time with a taste of the past during Buffalo Night on Feb. 4. Enjoy a variety of buffalo dishes prepared by the park’s chef.

Take a culinary “tour of America” without ever leaving Kentucky.  Visit the park on the following dates to let your taste buds experience some of our great American cultures: Miami Cuban cuisine – Feb. 2; New Orleans Creole and Cajun foods – Feb. 16; American Indian foods from across the Plains - March 1; and traditional American foods of Boston - March 22.

The park is surrounded by rolling, tree-covered hills, on the edge of a beautiful 10,000-acre lake. It has 51 lodge rooms, 22 cottages, and 99 campsites for you to stay at the park. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of an upscale fish camp in the Driftwood Restaurant. If you are looking for something to do during your visit, you can play on the 18-hole golf course, hike along a nature trail, visit the marina to rent a boat, check out a fishing pole or sports equipment, browse the gift shop, or just enjoy a peaceful seat overlooking the lake.

The resort is 44 miles southeast of Bowling Green. Take I-65 to the Cumberland Parkway east, to US 31E south. Call 1-800-325-0057 for information.
