Pennyrile Forest Offers Astronomy Workshop on Sept. 26
DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. – Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park in Dawson Springs will take guests to the moon and beyond when it hosts an Astronomy Workshop on Sept. 26.
The workshop will be conducted by Ross Workman, a member of the West Kentucky Amateur Astronomers. After a presentation at the park, the workshop will carpool to a site in the adjacent forest to view the night sky.
Participants may bring their own telescopes and binoculars; one will be provided for those who do not have their own.
This program is part of Pennyrile Forest Outdoor Adventure and Field School’s 2009 schedule. The fee to participate in the program is $10 per family or $5 per person. Please contact Rebecca Clark for reservations and more information at rebeccae.clark@ky.gov or 1-800-325-1711.
Pennyrile Forest State Park has a lodge, cottages, restaurant, gift shop, 18-hole golf course, campground, boat rentals, swimming, mini-golf, hiking trails and picnic areas.
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is located approximately 8 miles south of Dawson Springs, Ky. Take Western Kentucky Parkway exit # 24 Hwy 109.
