First Mini-Golf Tournament at Dr. Thomas Walker State Historic Site Sept. 29-30
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Dr. Thomas Walker State Historic Site at Barbourville will hold its first Mini-Golf Tournament Sept. 29-30 with divisions for adults and children.
An entry fee of $20 will allow participants a free practice round and then two regular 18-hole rounds on Saturday and Sunday. The children’s division will be for players 13 and under.
Prizes for adults will be free overnight stays at a Kentucky State Park lodge (Nov. 1 through March 15) and dinner at a state park restaurant. Children’s prizes will be gift cards for WalMart. The top three finishers in each division will receive a prize.
You can sign up at the park gift shop or get an entry form and mail it to the park at 4929 KY 459, Barbourville, KY 40906. The deadline for registering is Sept. 28. Foursomes will be formed Friday evening for Saturday’s play and will be formed again on Saturday night based upon what the Saturday scores. Park staff will serve as rules officials and will have final say.

The Dr. Thomas Walker State Historic Site honors an explorer who came to Kentucky before Daniel Boone. The park features a replica of a cabin Walker built, picnic areas, gift shop and mini-golf. The park is located five miles southwest of Barbourville on KY 459. Take exit 29 from I-75 and drive south on US 25E to Barbourville.
