Pennyrile Forest To Hold Geocaching Weekend Sept. 22-24
DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. – Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park will hold its 2nd Annual Geocaching Weekend on Sept. 22-24.
Geocaching is an adventure game that uses technology and global positioning system units (GPS units) to locate the cache. These units use satellites to determine your position on Earth and can be used to pinpoint locations.
At Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park's Geocaching Weekend many geocaches will be available to find. There will be night caches, a multi-cache hunt, First to Find Cache, as well as traditional caches. Participants should bring their own GPS units. Participants in this weekend will receive a 10 percent discount on camping or lodging. The registration fee is $5 per Geocache name.
Pennyrile Forest has a lodge, cabins and campground as well as a full-service restaurant.
Registration begins Friday from 3-7 p.m. in the lobby. There will be a night cache activity at 8 p.m.
