Department of Parks Seeking Private Developers For Projects
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Department of Parks announced today it is seeking proposals from private developers for several park projects ranging from cottages to park lodges.
“Our goal is to leverage limited state funds for economic development purposes to attract private investment and create innovative tourism projects,” said Parks Commissioner J.T. Miller.
A Request for Information – a general outline of information to help the state develop a proposal – has been issued for the development of cottages at the following parks: Grayson Lake (Carter and Elliott counties); Yatesville Lake (Lawrence County); Mineral Mounds (Lyon County); Lake Malone (Muhlenberg and Logan counties); Greenbo Lake (Greenup); and Paintsville Lake (Johnson County)
The deadline for responses is Aug. 31 at 1:30 p.m. More information is available at https://eprocurement.ky.gov
Miller said the department will be seeking request for proposals – more detailed plans used to specify the parameters of what the state is looking for from vendors – for the following projects:
- A golf resort development at Green River Lake State Park (Taylor and Adair counties)
- Park lodge developments at Kincaid Lake (Pendleton County); General Burnside (Pulaski County); and Herrington Lake (Boyle, Mercer and Garrard counties)
- Marina development and operation at Dale Hollow Lake (Cumberland and Clinton counties) and Lake Malone (Muhlenburg and Logan).
