Pine Mountain Celebrates Kentucky State Parks 90th Anniversary Aug. 9
PINEVILLE, Ky. – Pine Mountain State Resort Park in Pineville will celebrate Kentucky State Parks’ 90th anniversary with a special event Aug. 9 at the park.
Enjoy a dinner (includes cake), music, a 20-minute archival film, “Civilian Conservation Corps in Pine Mountain State Park” (1938), preserved and presented by Appalshop, at the C.V. Whitney Convention Center beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 a person.

Pine Mountain has a lodge, cottages and full-service restaurant. The park is located just south of Pineville on U.S. 25 E and 10 miles north of Middlesboro.
The Kentucky State Park System is composed of 49 state parks plus an interstate park shared with Virginia. The Department of Parks, an agency of the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, operates 17 resort parks with lodges -- more than any other state.
