Fall Photography Weekend At Pennyrile Forest Oct. 22-24
DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. – Photographers of all abilities are invited to Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park’s annual Fall Photography Weekend Oct. 22-24.
This weekend consists of a digital photography contest with point and shoot, intermediate, and masters divisions, evening programs, critique and award ceremony.
Registration will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon. After participants register, they may begin taking photos for the contest. The Friday night program will include an orientation by park naturalist Rebecca Clark and a presentation on landscape photography by professional photographer, Lowell Mendyk. The Saturday evening speaker will be J. Carlee Adams of Nashville.
Bring your own camera. If possible, bring your own laptop. Registration is $35. Register by Oct. 17th and registration is $25. Children 16 and under can compete for a reduced fee of $10. A 10 percent lodging discount is available to participants.

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is 20 miles northwest of Hopkinsville, on KY 109 N. From the Western Kentucky Parkway, exit at Dawson Springs and take KY 109 south. Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is nestled within Pennyrile State Forest. Park facilities include the following: lodge, cottages, restaurant, campground, 18-hole golf course, 56-acre lake, rental boats, playgrounds, tennis-basketball court, miniature golf course, hiking trails and meeting rooms.
