Earth Day Celebration April 22 at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park
GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park and the Marshall County Soil and Water Conservation District are holding special events on April 22 to celebrate Earth Day.
Here is a listing of the events for the day:
8 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Community Thank You Give Away – Lobby Entrance Patio. Chat with representatives from Kentucky Division of Forestry, Marshall County Soil and Water Conservation District (MCSWCD) and the park naturalist and pick up some earth-friendly giveaway items.
10 a.m.: Landscaping Basics – Start at Lobby entrance patio. Walk the park with Kentucky Dam Village's landscape gardener for a hands-on outdoor workshop on edible landscaping, butterfly gardening, deer issues, and low-input sustainable gardening.
Noon: Trail Grand Opening – Marina Pavilion No. 1. Explore the new trail on a 1.5-mile interpretive walk with our park naturalist.
8 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Electronic Recycling Drop-Off – Lobby parking lot. Bring your unwanted electronics to be recycled by Marshall County Recycling.
8 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Raffle Tickets – Lobby entrance. Enter a raffle to win a rain barrel. Proceeds will go to MCSWCD’s environmental education program.
