Jenny Wiley State Resort Park Kicks Off Elk Tours with Elk Night and Elk Campout
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. – Jenny Wiley State Resort Park will host several special events related to the return of elk-viewing tours in eastern Kentucky this fall.
The park will host Elk Night on Sept. 15, with a special buffet dinner from 5-9 p.m. The dinner will include elk roast carved on the line, hunter’s chili, elk meatloaf, pulled pork with sauces, fried chicken and catfish with hush puppies. Assorted vegetables, salads and breads also will be served.
The price for adults is $17.96 plus tax, and children 12 and under are $6.96 plus tax. Drinks are not included.
Archery for children will be offered at 5 p.m. At 7 p.m., there will be a program on elk restoration in Kentucky. Elk tours will be offered during the mornings of Sept. 15-16. The park is also offering special lodging rates of $64.95 plus tax for Friday and Saturday night.
The park is also offering an Elk Tour Campout, Sept. 22-23. The trip starts at 1 p.m. Saturday and will include a cookout and elk viewing tour. Campers should bring their own tents, sleeping bags, clothing and any other items they need for an overnight camping trip. Food, transportation to the camping and elk viewing areas and a guide will be provided.
The cost is $60 for adults and $30 for children 12 and under. Advance registration is required.
