Temporary Road Closure at General Butler State Resort Park; Park Remains Open
CARROLLTON, Ky. – The main park road that crosses the dam at General Butler State Resort Park will be closed starting Tuesday, Oct. 29, during work on the dam. It is expected to be closed through Nov. 26, depending on the work and weather conditions.
Repairs are being made to pipes that run through the dam. Construction detour signs and message boards will be installed Monday, Oct. 28.
The park lodge, cottages, restaurant, conference center and other attractions will remain open during the repairs on the dam.
Traffic on KY 227 will be directed around the park by way of Gillock Avenue and KY 320 to the rear entrance of the park.
Parking and activity areas on the east side of the dam will remain open.
A temporary entrance will be created for access to the campground and for delivery vehicles to the lodge. This entrance will be located on KY 227 and about ¼-mile north of the main entrance.
