Work Continues on Pool at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park; Opening Delayed
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Work is continuing on repairing leaks at the swimming pool at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville.
The work is necessary after a recent evaluation of the pool found that it was leaking several hundreds of gallons of water per hour.
Because of recent poor weather, the work has taken longer than expected and the pool will not be open until early June. The pool will not be open for Memorial Day weekend.
All other pools at Kentucky State Parks are scheduled to open on Memorial Day Weekend, beginning May 28, 2011. However, weather or the lack of lifeguards could delay some openings, so travelers may wish to check in advance on the status of the pool.
