Dale Hollow Stages 5k Race
Runners Invited to Dale Hollow 5 K Race
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The first race for 2006 in the Kentucky State Parks’ 5K Racing Series will be held April 1 at Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park in Burkesville, beginning at 9 a.m. CST.
The cost to participate in the “Spring 5K Classic” is $15 before the race or $18 on race day. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers as well as the first and second place finishers in each age group.
Runners are invited to stay at the resort on Friday night before the race. A special $99 packages includes an overnight stay, a pasta dinner on Friday night, race registration, a T-shirt, a program presented by Cumberland Valley Fitness on nutrition and sports injuries, and breakfast on Saturday morning before the race.
Other races in the series are the “Barren River 5K” classic on May 20 at Barren River SRP in Lucas, the “Possum Ridge 5K”on June 17 at Taylorsville State Park, just outside of Louisville, the “Magnolia 5K” on July 15 at Rough River SRP in Falls of Rough, and the “Two Rivers 5K” on Aug. 12 at General Butler SRP in Carrollton.
A grand prize will be awarded to the male and female runners who enter all five events and earn the most points. Everyone who finishes all five races will receive a certificate of recognition and be registered for a special drawing.
