Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park Hosting Chilihead Cook-Off Oct. 28

BUCKHORN, Ky. – It may be October, but things will soon be heating up at Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park with the Buckhorn Chilihead Cook-Off on Oct. 28.

 

This event is sanctioned by the International Chili Society and proceeds will benefit the Hospice of the Bluegrass - Mountain Community Hospice, which serves Perry, Leslie, Breathitt, Knott and Letcher counties. Funds raised from this event will help pay for indigent care.

 

The cook-off will be open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children. Sample tastings will be available. There will be music and children’s activities. Come dressed as your favorite Halloween character. There will costume and pumpkin contests for the kids.

 

The entry fee for members of the International Chili Society is $35 and the fee for non-members is $80 (this includes membership into the society.) Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
