Smoky Bridge High Line Ride Offered May 3 at Carter Caves
OLIVE HILL, Ky. – Carter Caves State Resort Park is offering a zipline experience called the Smoky Bridge High Line Ride during the May 3 weekend.
This temporary zipline of more than 200 feet will run across the gorge behind the park lodge. Participants will be strapped in for a memorable ride as you drop more than 40 feet and cruise by the park’s largest natural arch, Smoky Bridge.
Bring cameras for great photo opportunities.
Tickets are $15 a person (one ride per ticket). There are a limited number of tickets and they are on sale at the front desk in the park lodge, or call 1-800-325-0059. Tickets provide a specified time for your ride. (There is a weight limit of 250 pounds; however, you must also fit in the harness per manufacturers' safety guidelines.) For ages 6 and above. Anyone under 18 must have parent or guardian present.
Rides will be offered May 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This zipline ride is also offered during Carter Caves’ Winter Adventure Weekend. The equipment for the zipline was funded by the Friends of Carter Caves.
Carter Caves State Resort Park is located at 344 Caveland Drive in Olive Hill. The park has a lodge with a restaurant, cottages and campground. Besides cave tours, activities include hiking, horseback riding, swimming, boating and fishing.
Directions: From Interstate 64, Exit 161, take U.S. 60 east. Go approximately 2 miles and turn left on KY 182 north. The park entrance is 3 miles from the left turn onto KY 182 north.
